Inside Renegades minicamp: Day 1
ARLINGTON, Texas -- The Dallas Renegades held the first practice in franchise history at Arlington High School, their temporary home until construction on the new field at Globe Life Park is completed.
- Dallas head coach Bob Stoops greeted local media on hand for the occasion in his trademark visor, and expressed that he was excited to be back out on the field and get to work in anticipation of the season kickoff on Feb. 9 against the St. Louis BattleHawks.
- Players, outfitted in team sweats, were run through extensive calisthenics by strength and conditioning coach Kevin Yoxall before breaking into special teams, offensive and defensive groups.
- The Renegades will participate in minicamp through Dec. 19. They will reconvene for a league-wide training camp in Houston from Jan. 4-22.
I've got a bunch of good looking players, and I’m looking forward to working with them. I told someone yesterday that it’s like I’ve got all fifth-year seniors. All of these guys know how to play ball, they’re a bunch of good athletes and it’s going to be exciting and fun.
