Kerry Gordon, Vice President, Health and Safety

Kerry Gordon is the Vice President of Health and Safety for the XFL. In this role, Kerry is responsible for overseeing all health and safety policies, procedures, and protocols as well as directing the various teams’ Athletic Training Departments. Gordon is committed to providing elite healthcare for all XFL athletes.

Gordon joins the XFL team bringing 21 years of experience as a licensed athletic trainer, including 15 seasons consulting in the NFL (Philadelphia Eagles, Kansas City Chiefs, and Los Angeles Rams), one season in the NBA (Los Angeles Clippers), and 11 years full-time at Cirque du Soleil.  Gordon began her career in 2000 as a Seasonal Intern Athletic Trainer with the Los Angeles Xtreme, one of the eight original teams formed in the XFL’s inaugural season and the first XFL Championship team. She then went on to become an athletic trainer at different colleges including Southern Polytechnic State University, Allen University, and University of South Carolina prior to accepting a position as the Supervisor of Performance Medicine at Zumanity with Cirque du Soleil (CdS) in 2008.

Throughout her 11 years with CdS, Gordon worked within the Performance Medicine Department which was responsible for the care, prevention, and injury rehabilitation of CdS performers.  After working with Zumanity, she held various positions including Assistant Director, Senior Head Therapist – Resident Shows Division, and Senior Head Therapist – Professional Practice and Analytics.  In 2019, Gordon was hired as an assistant athletic trainer for the Indianapolis Colts prior to starting KG Sports Med LLC in 2021.

Gordon is a NATA licensed athletic trainer, NSCA certified strength and conditioning specialist, and NCTMB licensed massage therapist.   Kerry has guest lectured at multiple Universities, national and international conferences, and as keynote speaker.

Gordon earned a Bachelor’s degree in sports injury management from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She also earned a Master’s degree in physical education, athletic training from the University of South Carolina.
