BattleHawks finish last day of minicamp
EARTH CITY, Mo. -- The St. Louis BattleHawks wrapped up their two-week minicamp on Wednesday and get a short break for the holidays before heading to Houston for the league-wide training camp.
Head coach Jonathan Hayes was in good spirits and happy with how the team looks so far.
"These guys have worked extremely hard," he said. "They've done more than the minimal. That's what's impressed me the most with this group."
"It's been a positive experience. The chemistry we're trying to create is very important so that when we go to Houston, everyone is even closer together and pull together in the same direction to get things done. Within that we're building trust with each other."
Hayes also talked about how impressed he has been with his trio of quarterbacks:
On Jordan Ta'amu: "With Jordan, talent-wise, arm-wise he has a ton of that. We just have to slow him down a little bit, get him to go through his progressions."(Ta'amu talked to our Zain Pyarali about his minicamp experience, what it's been like getting to know his receivers, and what he's most looking forward to in Houston.)
On Brogan Roback: "Brogan is a very high-spirited guy, he plays off his emotions. It's good sometimes, but other times you have to reel him back."
On Taylor Heinicke: "He's the professional. He's been through it, he understands it. He's great for the room and showing those guys how to be a pro and he goes out there and he executes."
The team also got to meet with BattleHawks super fan Zack before their final practice at minicamp. Zack has been a season ticket holder since Day 1, and the players had a great time chatting him up.
To top it off, our long snapper Tanner Carew showed off his accuracy skills.
