Inside Renegades minicamp: Day 8
ARLINGTON, Texas -- Saturday's practice was all about the fans.
Hundreds of Renegades fans turned out for the team's meet and greet with coaches and players at UT-Arlington's Maverick Stadium.
They were treated to great weather and a high energy practice, complete with a live DJ and games for kids. Fans were allowed to come down to the sidelines for the second half of practice, and then met with coaches and players for pictures and autographs afterwards.
Dallas quarterback Landry Jones was thrilled with the turnout.
"It was great. It gives you confidence that people are going to be coming to the games," Jones said. "Everything we've done, we've had people come out and show up, so that's awesome."
Jones' conversations with fans ranged the full spectrum, but he enjoyed each interaction.
"Some of them were OU fans who just wanted to talk about the good old days," he said with a chuckle. "But most of them, I think they're just excited to have football year round."
The other big non-performance story in camp on Saturday? Designer visors. They're spreading like wildfire.
