A NEW LEAGUE MADE FOR FANS LIKE YOU
When you watch football, you watch for action. Not play reviews. Not commercials. Not halftime shows. The XFL is all about bringing football back to the basics, putting the action front and center, and giving you an experience unlike any other pro sport out there today.
The development of the XFL has been entrusted to the experienced hands of Oliver Luck, a former NFL and NCAA executive and quarterback, the league's first Commissioner & CEO. Luck came to the XFL from the NCAA, where he served as Executive Vice President of Regulatory Affairs & Strategic Partnerships.
Prior to the NCAA, he spent five years as the Director of Athletics at his alma mater, West Virginia University. Before his position at WVU, Luck served as the first president and general manager for Major League Soccer’s Houston Dynamo and led the organization to two MLS Cup titles. He was also Harris County-Houston Sports Authority CEO.
Earlier in his career, Luck served as President of NFL Europe and General Manager of the league’s Frankfurt Galaxy and Rhein Fire. Selected in the second round of the 1982 NFL draft by the Houston Oilers where he played until 1986, Luck earned his J.D. from the University of Texas at Austin School of Law, graduating cum laude in 1987.
