Houston Roughnecks Season Ticket Holders Got Up Close During Practice

HOUSTON -- This past weekend, the Houston Roughnecks held a special fan event, inviting fans to TDECU Stadium for the team’s first-ever open practice.

Fans were able to watch the team practice, purchase exclusive merch, and get signed memorabilia.

The Roughnecks also hosted a Q+A session which featured team president Brian Michael Cooper, XFL Director of Football Operations Sam Schwartzstein, offensive coordinator Chris Miller, defensive coordinator Ted Cottrell, along with defensive lineman Kony Ealy and running back Andre Williams.

Practice was well underway as fans lined up outside.

Wide receiver Sammie Coates easily walked away with the sickest catch of the day.

Season ticket holders were invited down to the field, and offensive assistant/special teams coach Dennis McKnight had his guys demonstrate proper rehydration technique:

Linebacker Carl Bradford also made an impression as a fan pointed out he bears a similar resemblance to the King of Atlantis:
