NEED TO KNOW

GUARDIANS

The New Yorkers snapped a two-game skid in QB Luis Perez’s first start. He did enough -- 18-26 for 150 yards and a TD -- and should be more comfortable his second time out. RB Darius Victor is coming off his best game of the season with 82 yards rushing, a season-high for the Guardians.

The pass rush creates havoc behind DT Cavon Walker (2.5), the league’s sack leader, along with DE Jarrell Owens (2.0) and S Wes Sutton (2.0). New York has eight sacks in its two wins and two in the two losses.

The Guardians have yet to win on the road, and Dallas has yet to win at home, so something’s gotta give.

RENEGADES

Can’t spell Dallas without ‘D.’ The Renegades rank second in points allowed (72) and third in yards allowed per game (305.3). New York figures to have a tough time moving it on the ground, with Dallas allowing just 3.8 yards per rush over the last two games.

QB Landry Jones (knee) is out again, forcing Philip Nelson back into the starting role. Nelson has been serviceable, but the Renegades need more playmaking. RB Lance Dunbar, TE Donald Parham and WR Flynn Nagel are keys to aid Nelson in the passing game.

Turnovers were a killer last week against Houston with five, including one by Nelson during his lone drive.
