NEED TO KNOW

RENEGADES

UPDATE: The Renegades are getting starting QB Landry Jones back, which is good news after a middling offensive showing in Week 1. QB Philip Nelson (33-42, 209 yards) wasn’t asked to do too much in falling 15-9 to St. Louis.

Three field goals, as head coach Bob Stoops said, won’t get it done.

Jones, out with a knee injury since early in training camp, was active last week, and Dallas needs his big arm to test defenses downfield.

WILDCATS

A wild week for the Wildcats off the field ends with their LA debut.

Starting QB Josh Johnson (thigh) appears ready to see his first action of the season under center. Last week, Charles Kanoff and Jalan McClendon split the work; Kanoff threw for and ran for a score but sustained a shoulder/head injury.

LA’s secondary has plenty to clean up after allowing four TD passes by P.J. Walker in a 37-17 loss at Houston.
