New York Guardians at Dallas Renegades
The Guardians and Renegades, both 2-2, have the spotlight on their quarterback position.
Dallas' Landry Jones (knee) is out for at least two weeks; Philip Nelson will take the snaps to start Week 5, though Brogan Roback and Eric Dungey remain on roster as alternatives.
New York won in Week 4 when Luis Perez filled in for an inactive Matt McGloin, and he appears to be starting here, too.
On the feet of Cameron Artis-Payne and the dual-threat talent of Lance Dunbar, Dallas has arguably the best backfield in the league, which could help them weather this change. New York's ground game ramped up in Week 4.
4th Qtr: Building on lead
Matthew McCrane remains perfect on his eight field-goal tries.
His 26-yarder makes it 30-12. New York is close to putting this one away.
3rd Qtr: Return to the house
MASS HYSTERIA for another score.
Austin Walter takes a kickoff to the house 97 yards, for the second return TD in XFL history.
After a failed two-point attempt, Dallas is down 27-12.
3rd Qtr: Mueller ... Mueller
Ryan Mueller tips a Philip Nelson pass to himself and RUMBLES into the end zone.
Then, a back-shoulder fade from Luis Perez to Mekale McKay makes it 27-6 Guardians.
3rd Qtr: Luis lets it loose
Luis Perez heaves a pass under pressure, which hits Colby Pearson, who deftly evades a defender for an 80-yard score.
Justin Stockton catches a two-pointer.
20-6 Guardians
3rd Qtr: Ain't That a Kick
Luis Perez directs a 76-yard drive to open the half, complete with 55 passing yards, and backup QB Marquise Williams cashes in with a one-yard touchdown run.
Despite the unsuccessful conversion attempt, it's 12-6 Guardians as their offense shows life.
